2. Who Can Use the Platform

TN-BOTIFY registration is open to students studying in recognised Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Engineering, and Arts and Science institutions. Participants must register under a recognised Robotics Club or Student Club affiliated with their institution, and compete as part of a team.

  • Each team must consist of a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 4 members.
  • A student may take part in one or both challenges (The Boxing Bots and Micro-Mouse) by completing a separate registration and payment for each challenge.
  • The person completing the registration on behalf of a team or club confirms that they are authorised to do so and that the information provided for every team member is accurate and complete.
  • Participants below 18 years of age must have the consent of a parent, guardian or the participant's institution before registering, and the institution/club coordinator is responsible for obtaining this consent.

3. Account and Registration Responsibilities

Clubs and teams registering on the Platform are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activity carried out under their account. You agree to:

  • Provide true, current and complete information at the time of registration and keep it updated;
  • Notify TANCAM promptly of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security;
  • Ensure that all team members named in a registration meet the eligibility criteria for TN-BOTIFY; and
  • Complete bot verification requirements, including uploading bot photographs and a bot demonstration video, within the timelines announced for your zone.

TANCAM reserves the right to reject, suspend or cancel any registration where the information provided is found to be false, incomplete, or where eligibility conditions are not met.

4. Challenges, Kits and Technical Specifications

TN-BOTIFY currently features two challenges – The Boxing Bots and Micro-Mouse. Teams may compete using the official Standard Boxing Bot or Standard Micro-Mouse kit made available through the Platform, or may build their own robot strictly in accordance with the technical, dimensional, electrical, safety and mechanism specifications published by TANCAM for that challenge.

Rule books and technical specification documents are published and updated by TANCAM from time to time through the Platform's Resources section. It is the responsibility of each team to refer to the latest approved version of these documents before building, modifying or bringing a robot to any zonal event. Robots that do not comply with the applicable specifications and safety rules may be disqualified or barred from competing at the sole discretion of the on-ground technical committee.

5. Fees and Payment

Applicable registration fees and kit prices are set out in the Pricing Policy, which forms part of these Terms. All payments made through the Platform are processed through a third-party payment gateway. TANCAM does not store your card, net-banking or UPI credentials; these are handled directly by the payment gateway in accordance with its own security standards.

A team's registration is confirmed only once the applicable fee has been received and reflected as successful in the Platform's records. Refunds and cancellations relating to fees are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

6. Code of Conduct

By registering for and participating in TN-BOTIFY, you agree that you, and every member of your team, will:

  • Behave respectfully towards organisers, volunteers, judges, mentors, fellow participants and event-day staff at all zonal events and the Grand Finale;
  • Not engage in any form of harassment, discrimination, unsafe conduct, or tampering with another team's robot or equipment;
  • Follow all safety instructions, arena rules and reporting timelines communicated for the relevant zone;
  • Not submit content (including bot photographs or videos) that is offensive, misleading, or that infringes another person's intellectual property or privacy; and
  • Comply with all applicable laws while participating in the Event.

TANCAM may disqualify a team, revoke access to the Platform, or bar a participant from future editions of TN-BOTIFY where this Code of Conduct is breached, without any obligation to refund fees already paid.

You confirm that you own or have the right to submit such material.

Participants are responsible for the safe handling, transport and insurance of their own robots and equipment.

10. Suspension and Termination

TANCAM may suspend or terminate a user's access to the Platform, or disqualify a team from the Event, at any time where these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or the applicable rule book are breached, or where continued participation could compromise the safety or fairness of the Event. Provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and indemnification shall survive any such termination.

13. Changes to these Terms
