Micro-Mouse challenges teams to develop a compact robot capable of navigating a maze with accuracy, speed and intelligent decision-making. The challenge brings together sensing, control systems, embedded programming, movement calibration and path-planning strategy.

What Is Micro-Mouse?

Teams build and prepare a robot to explore and navigate a defined maze under the published competition rules. Performance depends on reliable hardware, accurate sensing, stable movement, efficient code and the ability to identify an effective route.

Prepare Your Micro-Mouse

Teams should prepare their robot in accordance with the latest approved Micro-Mouse rule book and technical specification. Where the published rules permit, teams may use the standard kit or a compliant self-built solution.

Technical rules notice

Maze dimensions, robot limits, run procedure, scoring logic and technical inspection conditions will be published in the final Micro-Mouse rule book. The current website content links to the approved document rather than displaying unconfirmed specifications.

Before the Event

  1. Complete challenge registration and payment through the club dashboard.
  2. Confirm the final team composition of 4 members.
  3. Create the bot profile and identify the selected build option.
  4. Upload clear robot photographs.
  5. Submit a demonstration video before the event day.
  6. Review the current rule book, zonal instructions and reporting details.

From Qualification to the Zonal Finals

The zonal event system will publish qualification batches, arena or track assignments, match pairings where applicable, and the semi-final and final progression defined for the challenge. Approved scores and leaderboards will be published after review.

Technical Guidance for Your Build

Use the support portal for chatbot guidance, ticket-based help, call support, mentor assignment and tracking of mechanical, electronics and 3D-printing support.
